June 22 Middlesex Masters Championships - Barnet Copthall

Acton Swimming Club won four gold, four silver and four bronze at the Middlesex Masters Championships at Barnet Copthall and came home with three champions.

Martin Fox led the way with gold in the 100m IM and 50m breaststroke and silver in the 50m backstroke. Malcolm Munro won gold in the 50 breaststroke in his age group, silver in the 200m freestyle and 50m backstroke, and bronze in the 100m IM and 50m backstroke. Acton's third Middlesex champion was David Matherson in the 60 plus age group, winning gold in the 50m freestyle and silver in the 50m backstroke.

David then joined Martin, Malcolm and Ken Adey in the 200m freestyle and medley teams to win bronze medals in both relays, helping Acton to finish fourth overall.
